An emotional week on Mzansi TV: Reactions from The Queen Mzansi viewers
Gender-based violence has been a most talked about topic for a longest time & in recent weeks Mzansi Magic's best story tellers Ferguson Films have been inclusive with their show 'The Queen' when 'Kea' was beaten up badly by fiance 'Tebogo'.
There were scenes where he threw punches at her before but Wednesday episode was just emotional to viewers and reminded them of their own personal experiences. Clearly the story telling really evoked emotions as viewers resonated to the scenes.
Dineo Moeketsi[potraying the character of Kea] thanked her stage patner Fezile Makhanya [potraying the character of Tebogo] and entire The Queen Mzansi team for the support in going all inclusive in story telling and taking a stand against abuse.
Dineo:
I'm grateful that we challenged ourselves the way we did @FezileMakhanya We knew of the ramifications and went full steam ahead. Dare I say It, I am proud of us. We took stand against the perils of abuse. Love to the entire #TheQueenMzansi team. They supported us immensely.— Dineo Moeketsi (@therealdineo) April 18, 2018
Mr Makhanya himself was without words after seeing the episode.
Fezile:
I don't even know what to say after this...#TheQueenMzansi— Fezile Makhanya (@FezileMakhanya) April 18, 2018
We can only wonder what the whole cast and crew went through on set while shooting these scenes but it is evident that when an actor prepares the deliverance hits the right spot and The Queen Mzansi did nothing but justice to it.
Headwriter Phathutshedzo Makwarela and Executive Producer Connie Ferguson made it clear that the message had to be CRYSTAL CLEAR.

Some reactions from the viewers below:
I was once Kea, my then 8yrs old son wanted to stub my ex- abuse turns us into abusers and murderers. Its scars you for life. This was the most difficult storyline to watch. I saw me in Kea. I heard my excuses and lines. @Shona_Ferguson and @Connie_Ferguson #TheQueenMzansi— Relationship Adviser (@soaedi_dinah) April 20, 2018
As a young female I'd like to thank @Connie_Ferguson @Shona_Ferguson & @thequeenmzansi .
